Globalwarming Awareness2007 : Spelling Correction and Time-To-Index
While there is a lot of antipathy towards search engine optimization competitions such as the latest world seo championships with the globalwarming awareness2007 keywords, one of the few things they really offer in the way of quality information is the different patterns of indexing by the search engines and the related services each search engine provides.
For example, each of the major 3 (Google, Yahoo, and MSN) offer some level of keyword spelling correction. In the case of this particular competition, you can see that MSN actually offers the best keyword correction, Yahoo the second best and Google the worst.
Google is unable to determine the obvious joining of 4 words into two. While Google often has accurate mispelling suggestions, it appears the search engine has a long way to go when keywords are conjoined.
Yahoo correctly identifies the conjoined query and gives the user a linked opportunity to correct that search.
MSN correctly identifies the conjoined globalwarming awareness2007 keyword, giving the user not only a linked opportunity to correct the mispelling, but also provides a list of alternate common searches that would be appropriate to the user. This is certainly the most user-friendly and complete version of mispelling correction available in the 3 engines.
As for time-to-index, it is fairly well known that Yahoo’s blog indexing capabilities make it one of the fastest time-to-index search engines, if not the fastest. At this time (1:52PM Eastern), Yahoo is the only search engine currently showing any results for the particular keyword globalwarming awareness2007.
So, if you really want to learn something from a competition like this, follow the results.
The results say a lot more about the search engine than the search engine optimizer.

Very nice post! Glad that you could find something interesting and worthwhile in this less than thrilling competition.
Oh, that it’s interesting.
I only saw that Google don’t do the keyword spelling correction but i didn’t see Yahoo or Live.
Regards.
P.D.: Excuse my english.
Yahoo might be quicker, but google now already identifies 49.000 results, yahoo only little over 450. mmm, i always prefer yahoo over google to identify backlinks, yahoo does that way better than google (e.g. linkdomain:thegooglecache.com (yahoo) vs link:thegooglecache.com (google)).
Msn might be good with spelling correction, but that’s probably the only thing they are good in 🙂
