Google Caught Spying with Their Own Software
In the wee morning hours I decided to check the daily stats on our newly installed Google Analytics account. Know thy enemy right? Anyhow, much to my surprise, and great interest, I noticed a small plip on the screen to the far west of the continental US. Mousing over said plip low and behold the all too famous town of Mountain View, California appeared before my eyes. For those of you not with me that is the home town of Google HQ. To confirm my suspicions I clicked over to the â€Å”Network Location†of our Mountain View visitor and observed that â€Å”Google†was the answer. Further analysis revealed that they typed the url in directly and are using Firefox 1.5.0.3 as their browser with a 1280×800 resolution and Windows XP as their operating system. I also know they looked at 2 pages on the site, unfortunately their analytics software did not pick up which two pages they were… I wonder if Google is in the market for a good SEO firm? Well, I’m off to write the great American proposal, wish me luck. And once again we see that Google is watching.
if i had to guess they were probably checking you out b/c of ‘Google’ in your URL.
but, good luck with your proposal 🙂
Actually they were checking out our company website, Virante.com
My best guess is that it was AdWords checking us out since we manage several large clients with logins using virante.com email addresses.
What happen to this issue now? Does google really spying and what happen to your proposal?>
