Digg Entourage: Whose Got Your Back on Digg

In the world of Social Bookmarking Sites there are two types of friends: your typical, every day friend, and your entourage. Your entourage is that group of friends that makes it a habit to promote you and your sites. Unfortunately, it is difficult to determine who is in your entourage when, in reality, they don’t even have to be your “friend”.

So I spent a few hours throwing together the Digg Entourage Tool. By utilizing the fantastic Digg API, we can cycle through the last 25 stories submitted by a user, identify all of the diggs they receive, and organize individuals by their percentage of stories dugg. This is a great way to find and build friends across Digg without doing any hard work.

    Great tool.

How did you get the “Friends” and “Befriended” data? Digg’s API tool doesn’t provide this info.

Response: Actually it does. Using the api it is just /user/fans or /user/friends…

  2. This is pretty neat. I’ve linked it to a bunch of friends who would like this sort of thing. Nicely done.

I like it! I did get a couple error codes when I typed in certain Digg usernames. But overall, this could be very useful (rubs hands together greedily).
